Millcreek is a township at the mouth of MillcreekCanyon. Salt Lake City has several canyons in it’s foothills or ‘benches’: City Creek Canyon (by the State Capitol in Capitol Hill), Emigration Canyon (at the south end of the U of U Campus); Parley’s Canyon (where I-80 East takes you to Park City, Deer Valley, the high Unita Mountains and onto Wyoming); Millcreek Canyon (dogs are allowed here); Big Cottonwood Canyon (where Brighton and Solitude Ski resorts are located) and Little Cottonwood Canyon (where Snowbird and Alta Ski resorts are located).
It is by far the most populous unincorporated area of SaltLakeCounty, and would be its fifth-largest city. People love the Millcreek area because it’s right off the I-215 freeway, below MillcreekCanyon for hiking and biking, and because the cool canyon winds blow down from the mountains during the summer. Some homes don’t have air conditioning in Millcreek because of the breezes.Home prices in the Millcreek area can be $250,000 to $450,000. Return to Home.
