Salt Lake City Green Salt Lake City Green is comprised of award-winning Salt lake City environmental programs that continue to help us conserve resources, reduce pollution, slow global climate change, and ensure a healthy, sustainable future for Salt Lake City. Former Salt Lake Mayor Ross C. Anderson launched the Salt Lake City Green Imitative in 2001. The program has brought Salt Lake City to the forefront in national and international environmental leadership. Salt Lake City takes a comprehensive approach to environmental protection. From promoting alternative transportation and water conservation to high performance building and greenhouse gas emissions reductions, the goal of the Salt Lake City Green program is to maintain our high quality of life, while ensuring a healthy, sustainable future. |

Earth Day Footprint Quiz Learn more about our impact on the planet's biological systems by taking the Footprint Quiz to measure human consumption of natural resources in comparison to Earth's ecological capacity to regenerate them. Individually, each of us has "a footprint," and, collectively, they aggregate across geographical zones and other means of classification. Calculation of the footprint takes into account just about everything we do; from the food we eat, to the house we live in, to the car we drive and the other consumption habits we practice each day. It's a very complex calculation that answers a straightforward question: how much of the Earth's resources do our lifestyles require? |
